Signal Hill: Lion's Head by bike

Cycling up Signal Hill is a great experience. Not only because of the beautiful 360 degree view over Cape Town from the top, but for the magnificent views en route as well. The Signal Hill road is the only way to climb Lion's Head by roadbike (after climbing The Glen) and is situated entirely in Table Mountain National Park.

Cycling Signal Hill

Signal Hill climb has a short descent in the middle and slopes on the uphill stretches vary a lot: from 2 to 13 %. It's position in the open has a downside: the wind has free rein. So check the wind forecast before you start! It's a dead end road, so you will descend the same way.
