Home Climbs Table Mountain Cycling Table Mountain: as far as the tarred road goes! Table Mountain Road lets you cycle up Table Mountain, Cape Town's prominent landmark. Unfortunately, if you're going by roadbike you can't go to all the way to the top: the tarmac road ends somewhere halfway. The road starts from Kloof Nek, but for some more climbing you can start from the Atlantic Coast by combining this climb with The Glen. From Kloof Nek, just follow Table Mountain Road until the tarmac road ends. After a couple of hairpin bends, you'll pass the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway, where you might have to wait for a while for the cable car queue crossing the road. Then, after the road block, there's still a nice piece of tarred road until it ends where the Devils Peak hike starts. Table Mountain Road has some steep parts, but also three slightly downhill stretches.
