In a distance of about 40 km, you'll have an elevation of 500 meters. Both sides of Suikerbossie have a shoulder, so cyclists don't have to share their lane with the other traffic. Chapman's Peak from Cape Town Length: 57 km - Drop: 740 m Cycling to Chapman's Peak (Chappies) and back, you'll ride one of the most beautiful bike routes of your life. Head south along the Atlantic Ocean, climb Suikerbossie and descend to Hout Bay. That's where the world famous Chapman's Peak Drive starts: one of the most spectacular marine drives in the world. Turn at the lookout point and ride back more or less the same route, climbing the steeper side of Suikerbossie. All Year Cape Town Cycle Tour Length: 120 km - Drop: 1550 m This is a version of the Cycle Tour route you can ride all year round. The Cape Town Cycle Tour is the biggest road cycling event in South Africa and the World’s Largest Timed Cycle Race. Following the route described on this page you will ride a large part of the real route. You'll ride the wonderful coastal road from V & A Waterfront to Noordhoek back and forth, plus the loop on the Cape Peninsula.
