Bottom of Suikerbossie

Length: 40 km
Elevation: 510 m
Cycling to the bottom of Suikerbossie is a populair training route for Cape Town roadies. In a distance of about 40 km, you'll have an elevation of 500 meters. Both sides of the Suikerbossie climb have a shoulder, so cyclists don't have to share their lane with the other traffic.

Head south along the Atlantic Seaboard, climb Suikerbossie and descend to Hout Bay. Turn around at the robot (the bottom of Suikerbossie) and climb to Suikerbossie Pass again from the other side. This is the infamous final climb of the Cape Town Cycling Tour! Ride back to Cape Town following more or less the same route.

Start: the gps-track you can download on this page starts and ends at V&A Waterfront, but you can also start from one of the many parkings along the route.
